Happy Trails

I’ve moved. Again. Sorry about that. I found free hosting with many, many more features and I wanted a change. I’m one of those weirdos that wants to rearrange the furniture (or move into a new house entirely) every 6 months, so it’s no surprise to me that I can’t even keep the same blog host for over a year at a time. LOL! Anyway, if you still want to read my boring and infrequent posts, you can find me here.

My Funny Valentine

I’m normally a happy, smiley kind of girl who likes to laugh at life. So, when I met The Man, I was impressed with his ability to make me laugh until I nearly peed my pants. He can be downright hilarious. Not in that “we just met, so I’d better laugh at everything he says” sort of way… he’s just genuinely funny. After 10 years together, you start to take little things for granted and need to be reminded a little bit of the things that attracted you to each other. A few days ago, he said something so funny that I couldn’t stop laughing for the next 15 minutes. And the next day, I’d remember it and laugh just as much as I did when he first said it. It reminded me of just how much I love his sense of humor. I’m going to share it here, but I’m sure that I’m not going to be able to do it justice by typing it out…..

We were on our way to deliver some food to a friend of ours who had just given birth to their first son. We stop at McDonald’s drive-thru to get their food (it’s what they wanted). The Man orders our friends’ food and then asks what kind of McFlurrys they have. The clerk tells him the flavors, including “Sneekers”, which gets a little chuckle out of both of us. As we pull around to the window, The Man says “I can’t wait for my Sneekers McFlurry. But, how do you think he says ’sneakers’?”. I kinda giggled and before I could come up with an answer, he says “Oh! I know - it’s ‘Choos’!”

Ha! So, it probably isn’t nearly as funny to you reading it here as it was to me when he said it, but I wanted to share anyway. Later on I’ll be able to read it and relive the moment. I treasure these little moments that we have together, and as I get older, I find it harder to remember them (too many years of trying to kill my short term memory LOL).

Pictures and stuff

Just another quickie post… thought I’d share a few pictures with the 3 of you who still check in here from time to time. ;)

Sledding on Mt. Hood a couple of weeks ago:

The Girl making a snow angel
The Girl racing down the hill. Her face cracked me UP
The Boy laughing while sledding
Getting ready to race
The Man and Kids
View from the sledding hill at Timberline Lodge. Breathtaking

The Man built this bike for a show last weekend:

After work tomorrow I’ll be off for 5 days. I can hardly wait. Next Sunday, The Man and I are going up to Seattle with some friends for the night. We’re going to see the Seahawks vs. the Giants, and then we’ll get our drink on in the Emerald City. I’m stoked to spend some time with our friends and get a little break from the kids. Hope you all have a lovely Thanksgiving holiday. I know I have much to be thankful for. :)

Yipppeee! Date Night

We just had tickets to tonight’s Blazers game given to us. Courtside, Row C! Sweet! I’m not a big fan of the Blazers or the Pistons, but I do enjoy going to games - especially when they’re kick ass seats for free and a night out without the children. The Man and I have both been a bit stressed at our jobs lately; just burned out in general. It’ll be nice for the two of us to spend some alone time together and have some fun!

If you’re a Blazers fan and watching the game tonight, maybe you’ll see us on TV. We’ll be the people trying to get Rasheed Wallace to give them the finger. ;)

Dee, Dee, Dee

I wanted to type out this long ass post about my friends that I mentioned in the last two posts, and ask for some advice, but don’t have the time for that tonight. Damn domestic responsibilites. Maybe tomorrow. Instead, I offer you a couple of links sure to make you laugh……

Now that I’m home to watch TV in the evenings, I’ve really grown to like a couple of new shows. My Name Is Earl is the shit. I was skeptical at first… I’ve seen Jason Lee in several movies and always dig him, but I didn’t really picture him in a sitcom - especially playing this Earl character. I was so wrong. I’ve been hooked since the season premiere and will never be able to look at Jason Lee again without thinking of Earl. Their site has some video clips (really funny bloopers), a copy of the list, and a “karma guide”.

My other favorite is Mind Of Mencia (check out the videos section for a few good chuckles) on Comedy Central. Carlos Mencia is hysterical (also some clips on this site - good stuff)!! Every time I watch his show or his stand up, I laugh until I nearly wet myself. A warning: his work is not for people who are easily offended. There is nothing PC about this show at all. That’s part of what I love about it. Watch the show if you can; it’s on Wed. and Thurs. nights at 9.

Good night, and have a pleasant tomorrow. :)
